MONARCH TRADE GROUP - NEW TRADE PORTAL

Through our tour operating division, Monarch has been building holiday packages for over 50 years and today offers flexible, fully-protected holiday products to meet the changing from mainstream to specialist including beach, multi-centre, tour and stay, cruise and city breaks in up to 65 destinations worldwide, it is one of the most established travel companies in the UK travel sector.

With a long and rich heritage Monarch Airlines has been dedicated to providing customers with value, quality and choice. A leading independent travel group with core activities in scheduled airline operations, tour operations and aircraft engineering, stemming from its roots in the 1960s. Monarch has developed significantly since its origins in charter flying, becoming one of the UK leading scheduled leisure airlines.

The Opportunity

Monarch were moving to a single brand and as such required a new trade website to replace the existing multi-band site. A Focus on agent feedback and a more flexible way to complete searches was the aim of the portal. Putting the user experience and the agent at the heart of the holidays re-design.

The Outcome

As agents would be the ones ultimately using the site it was imperative to make sure their feedback was at the centre of the changes. After speaking with agents, re-working the existing functionality and creating new features was important.

A key element of this feedback from agents was the desire for a more flexible way to complete searches. This was achieved through a brand new search interface positioned horizontally along the top of the page, with simplified navigation and advanced filtering.

New improved navigation on the search results then allows the agent to toggle through various options in milliseconds including resort, price, departure and board basis, allowing Agents to be creative and flexible in their searches whilst highlighting inspiring options for their customers.

The design and functionality of the holiday section of the new site is fundamentally different to our existing site. We are delighted with the response we have had so far the new functionality has been really well received and we have seen a good uplift in sales from those Agents using the new site.
