Alfred Kuoni launched his pionerring travel agency in Switzerland in 1906. He was a visionary, an adventurer, explorer and pioneer, opening up new destinations and experiences across the globe.
Kuoni grew to be the biggest travel company in Switzerland and the country's leading long-haul tour operator, has picked up over 200 service and travel awards and has opened over 40 beautiful Kuoni stores. They believe no two holidays should be the same and personal service makes all the difference, they take their time to get to know a client and help them find their amazing!
Kuoni UK was facing an increasing number of issues in supporting and developing their web platform which had originally been developed as part of an enterprise solution, architected to meet the needs of a number of differently focussed tour operators.
Zolv were appointed to undertake a technology audit of Kuoni's platform and it's supporting system processes. The brief was to determine whether the existing platform could support the business's future demands in terms of capability, performance and features and if not, make recommendations to that end.
The audit process at Kuoni comprised of on-site interviews and round table conversations with key staff from IT, Marketing, Product, Database and Web; conference calls with suppliers, examination of the source code and open source components, and evaluation of the end-to-end technology stack, including up-time monitoring and analysis.
