Kuoni UK was facing an increasing number of issues in supporting and developing their web platform which had originally been developed as part of an enterprise solution, architected to meet the needs of a number of differently focussed tour operators.
In August 2015, Zolv were appointed to undertake a technology audit of Kuoni’s platform and it’s supporting system processes. The brief was to determine whether the existing platform could support the business’s future demands in terms of capability, performance and features and if not, make recommendations to that end.
The audit process at Kuoni comprised of on-site interviews and round table conversations with key staff from IT, Marketing, Product, Database and Web; conference calls with suppliers, examination of the source code and open source components; and evaluation of the end-to-end technology stack, including up-time monitoring and analysis.
We were able to make a number of recommendations across all 3 streams affecting people, process & technology. Each recommendation achieving one or more of the following:
