The Opportunity

With over 70 travel packages, plus hundreds of hotels and activities, it was essential that BC Ferries Vacations website successfully conveyed the breadth of options on offer.

BC Ferries Vacations (BCFV) were keen to develop a system that would allow them to deliver the same personal and highly tailored booking service provided by their call centres but with the convenience of booking online. Recommended by their primary reservation system, Zolv delivered a great-looking website that gives customers a special experience as they build their dream trip.

  • Creative web design
  • Seamless transition from existing website
  • Customised itinerary builder
  • Integration with Comtec Travelink
  • Integrated product & content management
  • Special offer & promotion management
  • 365x24x7 Support

The Outcome

The largely bespoke nature of BCFV's product meant whilst many customers start booking online, they often want to speak to the call centre before committing, the website allows customers to transfer their partial booking at any time. The intuitive itinerary builder gives the customer flexibility to tailor their ideal experience - adding ferry or road travel, accommodation, activities, extending any leg of a tour, or even making their own arrangements mid-trip. The display automatically reflects changes, verifying availability and updating prices and taxes in real time; it suggests alternatives for unavailable options, and recommends activities.

Zolv's Web Travel Platform means BCFV staff have complete control of the product and content; easily creating new packages, and showcasing special offers and promotions. Custom tools enable extracting of packages and promotions to integrate with the existing email campaign management software. WTP extracts package meta-data from Comtec's Travelink, eliminating the need to duplicate data, whilst validating the packages before being displayed on sale.
