Established in 1980, APH (Airport Parking and Hotels) is a family-owned and operated business specialising in providing airport parking and airport hotels to UK travellers. In addition to their own car parks at Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham airports, they also provide airport parking at all other major UK airports as well as Southampton and Dover Ports. Today, APH also offers a wide range of airport hotels and lounges as well as other travel extras such as travel insurance, car hire, holiday transfers, travel cash and attraction tickets.
APH already had a white-label platform but the business had ambitious plans and there was concern that it would struggle to support the increase in traffic and partner brands that growth would bring.
Adding new brand partners had to be carried out by skilled developers and the control over product selection per partner was limited. APH needed a new scalable system that would give the marketing and commercial teams tools to create new branded partner sites quickly and could be configured to sell specific inventory per partner.
We had already helped APH bring a sister brand to market with the creation of a new website for www.wooshaiportextras.co.uk. Built on Zolv’s Web Travel Platform (WTP), the Woosh project was delivered on APH’s existing Chauntry reservation system. Cajoling the well-known parking platform into supporting not only parking, but also airport hotel beds and hotel-parking packages was not going to be easy, but with some creative coding we did just that! So the foundations had already been laid for the white-label project ?but it still had to scale to over 1000 websites! With only a small team at APH running everything, it was important that product and content could be managed centrally across Woosh and all the partner sites.

With WTP in place, we had this covered, and with the development of some custom WTP plugins, non-technical teams were able to;
In deploying the final solution to Amazon's cloud platform, we implemented an affordable, scalable hosting solution that provides additional servers in response to increased traffic volumes, ensuring all websites are always up and always responsive.
