It was that time of year again when the Zolv troops head away for their annual off-site catch-up. The rolling hills of the Derbyshire countryside beckoned and Hollywood House near Belper was where the team headed. The morning was spent discussing all things Zolv from the last quarter and also what exciting projects and innovations are coming up in the next, always exciting times at Zolv!
Hollywood House is very much a nod to the golden age of cinema, with themed rooms based on Hollywood stars such as Judy Garland, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and even Walt Disney. Attention to detail was unbelievable, from a pair of red sparkly shoes in the Judy Garland room, a “King” bed in the Elvis room and even black crows and 'THE shower' in the Alfred Hitchcock room. A truly unique and fabulous location for a team catch up.
The fun continued into the evening as we got suited and booted and channelled our very own Hollywood glamour. The evening’s activities began with actors from Murder on the Side joining us to help us solve a murder mystery of Deadly Diamonds over dinner. We even had the boss take part in the story as “Olly the Late Lord”. Teams traded clues and negotiated deals to try and figure out whodunit, the room was filled with lots of laughter and some of us even managed to solve it.
We then headed to the casino in the basement for blackjack and roulette continuing the glamorous Hollywood theme. Luckily only with fake money, as it appears as a team we should definitely stick to web design and development, as a future at casino tables I don’t think is for us!
A refreshed Zolv team are back in the office and ready for the next quarter.
