RESPONSIVE REDESIGN

VIP have been providing ski holidays for over 25 years and operating an impressive 67 of their own luxury chalets with 3 luxury ski hotels all throughout 12 resorts in France, Switzerland and Austria. Their portfolio of chalets is completely designed around the needs of their guests and are known for their luxury and exceptional locations, with a service which has an unrivalled attention to detail. VIP Ski are proud of what they do and care about your ski holiday, a brand truly synonymous with luxury and extraordinary experiences.

The Opportunity

Last time VIP made large scale changes to their online presence was back in 2010. The website proved extremely successful, but the landscape it was built for has changed a lot. Responsive design is now a well-established standard which has revolutionised web design.

1024px screen are no longer the standard and with ever increasing device diversification across their user base, VIP SKI knew it was time to make the change needed to keep up with the way people consumed information.

The Outcome

Working with the creative team at Zolv, a responsive redesign that retained the luxury magazine feel of the existing site and evolved the existing IA and UX was selected as the best way to move the brand forward.

The starting point for this responsive redesign was the existing site already built on Zolv’s WTP (Web Travel Platform). VIP Ski’s website already handled a booking model that could deal with the complexities of a chalet booking, along with a robust back-end that was easy for the VIP Ski team to manage and update.

Building upon this foundation to create a well-designed, fully responsive user interface to serve it was at the heart of the project. Using the existing information architecture as the backbone of the new, detailed site maps and content audits were created to make sure that the flow and the arrangement of information were fully preserved in the migration over to the new design.

"We are very aware of the changes in consumers' online habits and are always looking to stay ahead. Zolv & the team were great in guiding us through implementing a responsive design and the best way to manage the content presentation."
