Travel Website Development
Our agile development team will build your website to your exacting requirements in a fast and efficient manner and at a predictable cost. Zolv websites are built upon our award winning Web Travel Platform, meaning you have full control over your website once its delivered.
We develop simple solutions to complex problems
The websites we’ve developed are used by tens of thousands of people every day. On the surface, the websites are engaging and easy to use for customers so they keep coming back. Behind the scenes, we have implemented mission-critical functionality (and used the data in back-office and third party systems) to expand online businesses. Our development process ensures rapid delivery of your website. Our development environment gives you exclusive access to test and interact with early prototypes and completed work.
The Development Process
Discovery and Requirements
After receiving requirements, we’ll invite you to a time-boxed review and clarification session. During this session you’ll describe functional requirements of your website in detail. We’ll help you prioritise the requirements in delivery order, based on business need and technical effort. The results of this session are used in an internal estimating workshop. The workshop produces a formal release plan and definitive project cost that you’ll agree and sign off.
Incremental Development
The requirements from the formal release plan are broken down into time managed "development cycles". Each development cycle contains a focused set of work items that are assigned to the project team. At the end of every development cycle, you’ll be asked to test and review the deliverables (working and tested pieces of functionality) and reprioritise work items.
Development Environment
During the development cycles, our developers (either individually or in pairs) commit work items to a revision control system on a daily basis. Our build server automatically compiles and tests the work items to produce a current working copy of the website. Custom test scripts are used to expose integration errors so they can be fixed rapidly. This process is known as "continuous integration".
Testing
The final period of analysis allows for user acceptance testing of all the original requirements. During this testing period we work together to finalise the website before release. The testing period is usually completed on a staging environment. The staging environment is a replication of the live environment in which the website will run.
Release & Support
Finally, a release is deployed to the live environment and the website is live. As part of the development solution, our flexible support is put in place to deal with unforeseen issues that might arise.
