Zolv delivers 25% increase to Virgin Holidays

Complete Re-design of Website Improves User Journey and Increases Sales Conversions by 25%

This month the new website at Virgin Holidays goes live. It has been completely redesigned by Zolv, the software design and web development company based in Leeds.

The re-design initially started back in August when Zolv was tasked with looking at the Virgin Holidays home page in order to improve search options and ensure that all available holidays were constantly accessible.

The task was a challenging one, as like so many other travel companies there were many existing legacy systems that required integration. However, once complete the benefits were so impressive that head of web operations Steve Evans asked Zolv to continue the good work across the entire site.

"The Zolv team have worked with us for several years, so they really understand our business. We needed them to produce a site that was as simple as possible for our customers to use. Hence the imagery was made larger, the navigation easier and the whole user journey considerably enhanced.

Additional search criteria were also added such as the ability to search by region or country through maps and drop downs. Clearer pricing and transfer options were incorporated throughout the process and content and promotional activity combined for enhanced search engine optimisation.

Finally we wanted to increase conversion rates on the site by some way. Over the last six months we have managed to up this by 25%, an incredible result within extremely challenging deadlines!"
